Updating an Incorrect ICD-10 in Medications QRG

This guide will show you how to update a medication that has an incorrect justification code.

How to Update a Medication

1. Go to Patient > Medication Management > Medications.

2. Find your patient.

3. End the medication with the incorrect justification code, if it is current.

If it is current, click End Now. If a popup asks if you are sure, click OK.

4. Next, create a new medication. Click Add New.

5. Fill out the medication with the correct information, making sure that the Start Date is back dated to the first day of treatment that the incorrect medication was used and that the Justification Code is updated to the correct code.

6. Click Add.

  • If you receive an error saying you do not have the Credentials, you will need the role of User May Add Older Medication Orders.

  • This can be updated in Maintenance > User Preferences by a SuperUser or manager.
